PENGUINPIG

You've guessed it PENGUINPIG is one of those super exciting projects that I had the most fun bringing to life earlier on in the year!!

It is a story of a little girl who reads about the cute little character on the Internet and decides that she must go out and find one. Not telling her far-too-busy parents, she follows the instructions from the website and sets about in search of this delightful creature. But does the adorable PENGUINPIG turn out to be what she had hoped…?

The book is aimed at children aged between 5-7 years of age and sends out an important message to both children and their parents about safety on the Internet – an important topic with children as young as 3 now accessing the Internet on a daily basis.

It was last Wednesday PENGUINPIG fever hit Wrights of Louth at the official launch and I have to say the day could not have turned out any better. Stuart Spendlow (the author) and I had fab time seeing everyone's reaction the book and i've never drawn so many PENGUINPIGs in one day.

If you'd like to get you hands on a copy then get yourself over to the official website www.penguinpig.co.uk books are £6.99 each plus £1.00 for p+p

Or come and see us. I'll be doing a free children’s illustration workshop, at the following libraries:

Hellllllo there!!! I'm back ....Well I haven't actually been away, i've just been working on some super cool projects which will be revealing themselves later on in the year (I promise its exciting stuff!!)

In the meanwhile heres something I promised to share with you an age ago:

The title of this blog is how it all started with an email headed "TOP SECRET" landing in my inbox  (As they often do!) this particular email then lead to a beautiful gift for a "Wife to be" (Laura) from her finance on the morning of there wedding ...these are some of pages that were put into a book called 'Our story so far...' Laura loved it and we thought it was a pretty ingenious way for groom to score some brownie points before there marriage even began!!

Only 100 in print....

Yes only 100 in print of what I call possibly the happiest book around...
'Small but perfectly formed stories that will change the world’ is, according to Andy Cope (author), ‘A bit of positivity psychology self-indulgence.’ He’s taken the principles of positive psychology and written them as a series of short stories, each I have had the most fun bringing to life. We have deliberately kept this as a limited edition print run, each one numbered and signed, allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The books cost £15 (with free postage and packing to UK addresses). They are hard cover and full colour. The perfect gift for someone you love dearly. Please note, these books will not be appearing on Amazon. Want to be one of the one hundred proud owners get yours here and enjoy!!

Go Team Bradders!

My adorable little sister - Lucy (who also likes to take the name Bradders!) has made a commitment to run the 26.2miles of the London marathon on April 21st 2013. By doing so, Lucy who is a Sales Executive at Uttoxeter Racecourse is aiming to raise awareness and money for Racing Welfare. What is particularly amazing about this is, only 18 months ago when Lucy ran her first lap of Uttoxeter racecourse (just over 1 mile) was a huge achievement for her. Let me paint the scene for you, she was 2 stone heavier, out of shape and on passing the finishing line genuinely thought she was going to have a heart attack! What a difference time, determination and commitment can make! As when being faced with the opportunity to run a marathon just 13 months later, what did she say? YES of course! Lucy has promised to raise £2000 but Lucy being Lucy has set a goal of £5000! Therefore she has got her older sister (me) and best friend, Fin involved to help out with it. The three of us will be visiting racecourses across the country to participate in collecting money at different race days. The next one being this Saturday at Doncaster, so please look out for us when leaving through the gates and donate some of your winnings or you can make a donation here.

Sis you are an inspiration, wishing you every success in your challenge, I'll cheer you on all the way round and wait for you to cross the finishing line. Whatever unique ideas you come up with to raise the money, you can count me and Fin in!

Say Hello to T.T.

At the end of last year I had the pleasure of working with the fantastic team at Parkhouse-Evans to bring the impish little character 'T.T' to life.

I had a fantastic time illustrating T.T. on his magical adventures

....over land and sea,

in the castle of laughter and merriment...

and through the bewitched forest of trees with scary hands!

The book has been written by author Barbie Alice with the idea to expand young minds as well as to stimulate the imagination. I think its a perfect read for little hands everywhere. Its is currently published by Lulu and available on Amazon.

Have you got an idea for a story that you're dyeing to see in real life, get in touch, i'm here to help!

BLUE Monday???

TODAY...apparently is blue Monday, meaning it is officially the most depressing day of 2013 (It is also my friend Leighton's Birthday! Poor thing!) I'm not going to let it get me down...Are you? Therefore the following is an attempt at putting a grin on your face!!!

First of all it is incredibly snowy outside, most of the country is under a fluffy, white blanket of snow.

Which can only mean the country has gone to pot but lots of SNOWMEN are popping up in parks and gardens everywhere. Here's one the lovely people from The Refectory Table made for me, as I was lucky enough to be there 600th follower on twitter at the weekend. He certainly put a smile on my face!

Have you found me on twitter yet?

You might also want to cheer yourself up with a nice cup of tea and a read of today's Design Juices feature...you guessed it, its all about me! I was asked to talk about my work, education, influences and current work, if I've made you curious its a great opportunity to learn more.

Did I put that smile back on your face?

Oakthorpe Primary School...

On Monday I had a Brilliant time with the Brilliant pupils and staff at Oakthorpe Primary School. In the run up to half term the pupils were learning all about good learning habits and in doing so each class had their very own identity: Mega-Learning Monsters, Supersonic Superheros, Magic Monkeys and Epic Einsteins. It was my job as an Illustrator to work with each class to bring these identities alive and to explain the development process for the pupils to do themselfs. Check out these year3/4 starting points for there Supersonic Superheros....

Don't they look fab! I left the pupils developing there class identities/characters which will be used in their every own learning habits book...I can't wait to see the outcome!

If your school has a project in mind and would like my specialist input, please get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
